Way back in September I lamented that we weren't permitted--per the owner's manual--to change the batteries on our cordless electric lawnmower, despite the fact that it would have been a trivial fix.
Well, today, I stuck it to the Man.
And our backyard looks much, much better than it has in a really long time. :-)
Fight the power!

You read the owner's manual? You're not supposed to do that! If more wives find out about this, it could cause a shift in the space-time continuum! Men everywhere will be expected to read the instructions, ask for directions... chaos ensues! AAAHHHHH!
:D
I thwarted the system by using cheap generic ink cartridges in my printer, in spite of the dire warnings my printer sends me, and they work fine. So there.
In my defense, I only read enough of it to find out what battery I needed. I assure you, I didn't read the whole thing. That would have just been... unnatural.
I'll have to see if there are any generic cartridges out there for our printer. That whole printer-ink-cartridge thing is a racket.
