Slightly Late Advice on Filing One's Taxes

And it's probably a good thing that this advice is slightly late, considering the source: Dave Barry, who (for the purposes of this column) is wisely writing under the nom de plume of George Will. He's explaining what you need to know to file your taxes, including why you have to file your taxes. And he reminds us to keep the big picture in mind:
My point is that, as you do your taxes, you should remember where your tax dollars are going, and recognize that you, as a citizen, have a moral obligation to prepare your tax return with the same degree of conscientiousness that Congress exhibits in spending your money.
